Food Trucks

Having our event on a cool December afternoon means we are serving up something fresh, scratch made, hearty, and delicious. Some past trucks included Naked Empanada making fresh, handmade empanadas since 2015, the Southern Connection Food Truck serving up hearty regional southern specialties with an elevated twist and the Cinnabon Food Truck!  We will be announcing the trucks for this year's race in the coming weeks.  Hope you come hungry and ready to run!

In addition to food trucks the Rocky Mount Mills has great options to dine at on campus.  On race day consider checking out Books & Beans or Tipsy Tomato.

Following the race runners and guest will be entertained with live music from Matty Begs. Music will begin at 2:00 pm and continues until 5:00 pm.  All registered runners have free access to our post race celebration.
 
ABOUT THE BAND:  With roots in Wilson & Rocky Mount NC, the band officially began in the Spring of 2012 and features Matty Russo (lead vocals/acoustic guitar).  From Virginia, down to South Carolina, and back to their home state of North Carolina, discover Matty Begs’ toe-tapping melodies at the best bars, colleges, and beaches the South has to offer.  If you groove to the beats of Jack Johnson, Sublime, and  Dave Matthews and then combine that with live jam elements ala  Phish and Widespread Panic, then you’ll love the funky beach jam sound of Matty Begs.

Craft Beer

All registered participants 21 and older may receive one can of craft beer from a North Carolina craft brewery.  Additional beers may be purchased at the Rocky Mount Mills and enjoyed responsibly after the race.  Rocky Mount has multiple breweries currently brewing on campus including Koi Pond, HopFly, Bright Penny and Larema Beverage Company. But the Mill Chill doesn't stop there!  

 

We are also excited to have multiple guest brewers supporting our race.  Trophy Brewing (Raleigh), Komana Brewery (Cary), Deep River Brewing (Clayton), Bearded Bee (Wendell), Casita (Wilson), Clouds Brewing (Raleigh/Durham), Shortway (Newport),  Ponysauraus (Durham/Wilmington/Raleigh), Bond Brothers (Cary), Hi-ire (Asheville/Durham/Charlotte/Wilmington), Pitt Street (Greenville/Washington), Tobacco Wood (Oxford/Durham), Sneaky Penguin (Raleigh), Oak City (Knightdale), Mordecai Beverage Co (Raleigh), Bombshell (Holly Springs), Salty Turtle (Surf City/Raleigh), Edward Teach (Wilmington), Raleigh Brewing, Lynnwood Brewing Concern (Raleigh), Mother Earth Brewing (Kinston), Bragging Rooster (Warrenton),  (Asheville/Virginia), Tarboro Brewing, and Freshwater Beer Co (New Bern) are joining us as well.  All breweries are North Carolina favorites offering some of the best beers you fill find anywhere in the state!
