Having our event on a cool December afternoon means we are serving up something fresh, scratch made, hearty, and delicious. We are thrilled to have two of the top food trucks in North Carolina serving up local goodness for everyone!

The Wandering Moose truck is the #4 rated Raleigh truck according to Yelp reviews.  The "Moose" will be serving slow cooked meats, scratch-made sauces, hot soups and fresh sides.  Don't take our word for it.  Check out pictures of their food online and read their reviews.

The CockADoodleMoo truck is the #5 rated Raleigh truck.  Their focus is Traditional and Global BBQ along with Gourmet Sandwiches featuring fresh, all natural and local ingredients.  A local favorite is "The Raven" sandwich, filled with hickory smoked Siler City brisket on grilled ciabatta with horseradish-Granny Smith apple slaw.  Yum!

Following the race runners and guest will be entertained with live music from Matty Begs. Music will begin at 2:00 pm and continues until 5:00 pm.  All registered runners have free access to our post race celebration.  Guest can come for free, or become a supporter.  For only $18 you will receive an event shirt, a commemorative tasting glass, and two craft beer samples. Must be 21 to get the beer!
ABOUT THE BAND:  With roots in Wilson & Rocky Mount NC, the band Matty Begs officially began in the Spring of 2012 and features Matty Russo (lead vocals/acoustic guitar), Ellis Ramey (drums), Bo Faulkner (lead guitar), Stephen Dupree (bass), and David Hathaway (keyboards).
From Virginia, down to South Carolina, and back to their home state of North Carolina, discover Matty Begs’ toe-tapping melodies at the best bars, colleges, and beaches the South has to offer.  If you groove to the beats of Jack Johnson, Sublime, G-Love, and  Dave Matthews and then combine  that with live jam elements ala  Phish and Widespread Panic, then you’ll love the funky beach jam sound of Matty Begs.

But we don't stop there!  In addition to our two food trucks, you will also be able to visit the Tap @ 1918, Tipsy Tomato, and TBC Tacos & Taproom on property.

Craft Beer

All registered participants will receive a commemorative glass from our race.  Those of age will receive two complimentary pours from one of our participating breweries.  Additional beers may be purchased at the Rocky Mount Mills and enjoyed responsibly after the race.

Rocky Mount is currently home to five craft breweries.  All are on the property of the Rocky Mount Mills located in renovated mill homes and portions of the old cotton mill  Koi Pond Brewing Company opened in the Fall of 2015 and has been a favorite among those in eastern North Carolina from the start.  TBC West of Tarboro Brewing opened in 2017 (their second location).  Not only do they have a taproom, they also service delicious made to order gourmet tacos.     In the Summer of 2017 the Rocky Mount Mills opened their brewing incubator.  This unique setup allows for collaboration among craft brewers all under one roof.  There are six total breweries on site including HopFly Brewing Co. opened in the winter of 2017 brewing a beer for every adventure followed by BDD Brewing Company who is opening a Zebulon tap room this fall.  Spaceway Brewing and Harlem Brewing South share a space overlooking the new courtyard area.

But the Mill Chill doesn't stop there!  We are also excited to have multiple guest brewers supporting our race.  Trophy Brewing (Raleigh), 217 Brew Works (Wilson), Boondocks Brewing (West Jefferson), Deep River Brewing (Clayton), Duck Rabbit (Farmville), Big Boss (Raleigh), Ponysauraus (Durham), Bond Brothers (Cary), Double Barley (Smithfield), Brice's Brewing (Raleigh), Lonerider (Raleigh), Mason Jar Lager Co (Fuquay Varina), Funguys (Raleigh), White Street (Wake Forest), Pitt Street (Greenville), Tar Banks (Louisburg), Tobacco Wood (Oxford) joining us as well.  All breweries are North Carolina favorites offering about some of the best beers you fill find anywhere in the state!
